Ok, ANTM fans. Were you as disappointed as I was when you sat down to watch last night’s episode only to find a recap — a RECAP — episode?
Have we gotten that far to warrant a recap show? Personally, I didn’t think so.
That’s not to say I didn’t learn anything. I learned Spontaniouse used to work at Wendy’s and that the heat in a fast-food kitchen messes up one’s weave.
I learned that lots of girls go into the competition thinking they’ve got it in the bag. *Cough, Ebony, cough*
We also got a sanitized dose of realism with snippets on Jenah struggling with quitting smoking, Bianca running into a glass door and Jenah somehow chipping her tooth in the pool. I still really, really don’t get HOW she did that, but I guess that will have to remain one of life’s mysteries.

And then we have some serious time. The girls share their inner secrets & fears. Tyra & Dani talk to them about body image (starvation dieting – don’t do it!). Oh, and did anyone else catch that Tyra & Dani weren’t saying don’t lose weight? They were saying lose weight properly with diet & exercise. While I can’t argue with that, when the segment was set up, it seemed like Tyra was going to go off on the fashion industry and its weight standards. Nope — just lose it the right way, girls.
And finally, ANTM came through and showed Sarah selling a banana using sexy means. Now I know why it was saved for filler. It so wasn’t sexy. She snapped the banana in half. How on earth do you expect to sell any bananas to men when you do that?
Here’s hoping that next week’s episode brings what they promised — models passing out and Tyra teaching ‘the hoochie.’
