So, Brett Favre is retiring. Here in Wisconsin, there is surprise, sadness and perhaps a little relief that we finally have the answer to the “Is Brett Favre retiring?” thing we’ve been dealing with around this time for the past five or so years.
I’m just a little disappointed that Favre retired before he could fulfill my 1993 prophecy that he would become “the next Don Majkowski.”
Anyway, NFL Network is throwing Favre a 30-hour retirement party this week with Favre and Packers programs today through Saturday.

I wouldn’t be surprised if John Madden announced his retirement now, also. I mean, he has no reason to go on if the Gun Slinger is gone!

The one I feel for the most, though, is Anthony Dilweg. He was originally supposed to get 30-seconds of programming on NFL Network, but it was pre-empted for Favre’s 30 hours.
