The Omen (1976, Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, David Warner)
It’s all for you Damien! 6 6 6
Quick Plot: After a little switcheroo at the hospital, a nice couple leaves with a baby destined to become the Antichrist.
Scariest Scene: Let’s be honest, there are some gruesome deaths in this movie. Any one of them would be enough to turn your stomach. But the idea that Satan (or just pure evil, if that’s more to your taste) is hiding behind some sweet boy’s face is even scarier.
Final Say: Jerry Goldsmith’s Oscar-winning score adds a lot of drama to this suspenseful tale, as does the presence of Gregory Peck. The Omen is a smart, scary film. And it ruined the name Damien for generations to come.
Just for fun: The remake, starring Liev Schreiber and Julia Stiles, was released on 06-06-06.
