I apologize for the delayed post. Truthfully, it just didn’t feel right posting anything until I could actually spot the pineapple. What kind of die-hard fan would I be?! For those who don’t know, there is a pineapple hidden in every episode. And right now, USA Network is giving away a grand-prize trip to Hawaii just for locating the pineapple. Well, call me pathetic, but it took three viewings to finally spot the elusive, and very mini, pineapple. Come on, it was hidden in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. Clearly I blinked!
Shawn and Gus invite themselves onto an arson investigation. The case turns out to be much more than arson after a skull is discovered at the scene. In fact, the fires were set to cover up a string of murders from ten years ago. Similar to last week, all signs point to an inside job. The boys play at being firemen, and eventually expose “Señor Pantalones del Fuego.”
For Thought:
Which name combination that covered both Killer and Arsonist did you like best? I liked Arsassin!
What do you think is going to happen with Shawn and Juliet? It’s so funny watching Shawn try and fail with other ladies, I’m not sure he should ever actually get together with anyone. Like this week. Although Shawn kept trying to connect with her, the intense brunette arson investigator had more chemistry with Lassiter. I think Shawn should give that one to Lassie.
Psych has covered some pretty fun territory in only three seasons – cops, firemen, roller derby, bounty hunters, mummies, dinosaurs, singing contests, and a Spanish language soap opera. I’m beginning to worry, though. Where else can they go? Psych fans already know that the show is signed for a Fourth Season. So, let’s do them a solid and help come up with some equally iconic premises.
- Shawn and Gus on the Moon?
- Shawn and Gus in a Rodeo? Shawn could be the competing cowboy and Gus would be the rodeo clown!
- Shawn and Gus at a Drag Show?
- Shawn and Gus guest-star on Mythbusters or Law & Order? CSI: Santa Barbara!

– This week’s episode was directed by Tim Matheson, who also had a brief cameo. He played “Fireman Paul” who was killed in the ’98 fires, and whose photo can be seen hanging on the fire station wall.

– When Shawn interrogates the only surviving member of the Rinkle Fire starters, he like totally channels Keanu Reeves. A sort-of Bill & Ted meets Point Break. To underscore the connection, the arsonist’s name is Bodhi, which is the name of the surfing spiritual guru and criminal played by Patrick Swayze in Point Break.

Shawn: What? You can just get a list of that kind of stuff?! I’d like a list of all available Zoltar machines. For a little 14-year old friend of mine.

Bodhi: What are you, a fairy?
Shawn: Hardly. I’ve seen Little Darlings like 11 times.

Bodhi: What’s your coven?
Shawn: Say what?
Bodhi: What’s your passphrase?
Shawn: I don’t know you man. Same time. One. Two. Three.
