As any fan knows, Jennifer Aniston has a knack for comedy. But in the romantic action comedy The Bounty Hunter, Aniston — playing a journalist who jumps bail because she has a lead on a murder coverup — also tries her hand at action.
Gerard Butler, who plays her bounty-hunting ex-husband, is no stranger to action films, but for Aniston the physicality was unfamiliar. “I was dumped into a trunk. I ran for miles and miles in 4-inch Manolos. I got covered in pond scum. Gunshots, car chases, crashes — it was so much fun!” Aniston says of the role.
Although she’s being a bit tongue-in-cheek, running in heels did take its toll. “At the end of each day my feet looked less than foot-modeling-worthy, just gnarled a bit.”
As for the trunk scenes, “Every couple of takes I would get a sip of water and a cracker. And there was this one moment when [the crew was] overly discussing a shot and all of a sudden the voices all faded.” They’d walked away and forgotten her for a few moments.
The car crashes were particularly jarring for Aniston. To presumably calm her nerves, Butler jokingly told her stories of his more dangerous car stunts. “I thought it was a comfort to tell her this,” he says and laughs. “It just made it worse. She was genuinely nervous, but after the first day, there was no holding her back. She was an adrenaline junkie.”
“The Bounty Hunter” is now showing on Video On Demand. Check your cable system for availability.

Jennifer Aniston is gorgeous, but has changed a lot since her teenage years. She had a much more rounder face and big beautiful eyes with fluffy hair.
