G4 to count down the Top 100 Video Games of All Time in weeklong series

From June 11-15, in a five-part series airing in hourlong episodes at 8pm ET each night, G4’s The Top 100 Video Games of All Time will look at an industry that began in arcades, pizza parlors and shag-carpeted living rooms and has grown into a multi-billion dollar business that dominates the entertainment landscape — video games. Whether it’s addictive Facebook games, iPad apps, MMOs, console blockbusters, and/or nostalgia for a home gaming system that one grew up with, nearly everyone of a certain age has a connection to video games, and this special looks to count down the greatest of all time.

G4 spoke with the world’s biggest stars, athletes, musicians and influential names in video games to help make the list. The series is narrated by acclaimed gaming industry voice artist and actor Nolan North (the Uncharted series, Batman: Arkham City).

Among the celebrities who talk about their video game experiences in the series are:

* Zach Braff recalls his early years with the Atari 2600

* Lifelong gamer Jack Black recalls his first experience with the Activision classic Pitfall!

* Danny Pudi (Community) discusses the nuances of playing as Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl

* Felicia Day shares her World of Warcraft addiction

* Andrew Luck and the rest of the top 10 draft picks from this year’s NFL Draft reminisce on their favorite titles and gaming moments

* This year’s Madden ’13 cover model, Calvin Johnson, appears

* Soulja Boy discusses his tyrannical side when playing The Sims

* Common describes his love of DJ Hero and Call of Duty

Among the other stars featured in the series include Nick Cannon, Milla Jovovich, Sara Paxton, Aisha Tyler, Morgan Spurlock, Robin Williams, Matthew Perry, Rob Gronkowski, Chad Ochocinco, Terrell Owens, Barry Sanders, Tony Hawk, Shaun White, Alice Cooper, Metallica, Dee Snyder and more, as well as video game industry names like Will Wright (The Sims), John Romero (Doom), Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear series), Shigeru Miyamoto (Mario and Legend of Zelda series) and Cliff Bleszinski (Gears of War series), among others.
