A seven-city U.S. casting call for The Hero, TNT’s upcoming competition series, which will be headlined and executive-produced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was announced. Production crews will visit Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, New York, Nashville and Minneapolis. The producers of The Hero are looking for competitors who display the physical, mental and emotional strength to participate in a battle of brains, brawn and morality, resulting in one winner being named the ultimate hero. The Hero is being produced for TNT by Ben Silverman‘s multimedia entertainment studio Electus and 5×5 Media, with Johnson and his producing partner, Dany Garcia, serving as executive producers. TNT has ordered eight episodes of the series, which is slated to premiere in summer 2013.
