Looks like Welcome to the Family’s welcome to the NBC family was temporary. Very temporary.
NBC has canceled the freshman comedy, starring Glee’s Mike O’Malley as a suburban dad trying to cope with his college-age daughter’s unplanned pregnancy, just three weeks into its run and pulled the series from its schedule.
Here’s what to watch for in Family‘s Thursday night 8pm time slot:

- Oct. 31: SNL Halloween special
- Nov. 7: new episode of The Voice
- Nov. 14: back-to-back new episodes of Parks and Recreation
- Nov. 21: back-to-back new episodes of Parks and Recreation
- Nov. 28: Sunday Night Football’s Thanksgiving game
- Dec. 5: The Sound of Music Live starring Carrie Underwood
- Dec. 12: Premiere of Mark Burnett-produced Season 3 of The Sing-Off
- Dec. 19: The Sing-Off
On January 2, Community returns with back-to-back episodes.
- Oct. 30: Season premiere encore of Law & Order: SVU
- Nov. 6: new episode of Dateline
- Nov. 13: new episode of Dateline
- Nov. 20: new episode of Dateline
- Nov. 27: SNL Thanksgiving special
- Dec. 4: SNL Christmas special (begins at 9pm ET/PT)
- Dec. 11: Kelly Clarkson Christmas special
- Dec. 18: Michael Buble Christmas special
On Jan. 8, 2014, Chicago P.D. — spin-off of the network’s Dick Wolf-helmed hit Chicago Fire — will take over the slot.
