Daylong celebration of Joan Rivers on E! includes “Fashion Police” tribute special

This Friday, Sept. 19, E! will air “Joan Day,” a daylong celebration of the late Joan Rivers, who appeared often on the network, notably on the series Fashion Police. It makes sense, then, that the centerpiece of the tribute will be the 90-minute special Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan, airing at 8pm ET/PT.

According to E!, during the special ” the Fashion Police family honors Joan with a touching and hilarious 90-minute on-air celebration befitting of the woman whose sharp wit and biting comedy made her a legend to millions of fans, and who changed forever the face of Red Carpet fashion commentary. Joan’s daughter and Fashion Police executive producer Melissa Rivers, will join her onscreen ‘family’ Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic, and George Kotsiopoulos, as they lovingly and, of course, laughingly, pay tribute to Joan’s years as the host of Fashion Police.”

Included in the program is behind-the-scenes footage, outtakes, some of Joan’s most shocking comments, personal stories and more.

The special will be preceded by an all-day marathon of Fashion Police episodes starting at 7am ET/PT. These episodes will include Joan’s 80th birthday celebration, and the last Fashion Police she did for the MTV Video Music Awards and Primetime Emmy special.
