Shannen Doherty & Holly Marie Combs Go “Off the Map”

Shannen DOhertyLast week Great American Country kicked off 2015 by sending actresses, former co-stars and real-life friends Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs off of the beaten path and onto the road. In the six-part series, Off The Map With Shannen & Holly, the twosome travel on an adventure-filled road trip where viewers voted to choose the women’s activities.

As the ladies weave their way though the southeast U.S., they participate in tomato fights in Kentucky, make moonshine in Tennessee, get creeped out on a ghost tour in Georgia and race around a dirt track in Alabama. Both women are animal lovers, so they also release alligators into the wild and visit an animal sanctuary.

“This was truly a Great American experience,” reveales Doherty. “Not only did we do some amazing and fun things, we also met really interesting, lovely people on this road trip. And sharing the experience with Holly made it all the more special.”

After checking out the first episode (Kentucky), I was surprised at the willingness of the ladies to jump in experience the weird, the wild and the wonderful. These are no pampered princesses — they’re driving themselves and they appreciate the opportunity that this trips affords them. They get to see some of America’s hidden gems with the people they treasure. As they traversed Kentucky, they rode ziplines through amazing subterranean caves, made whiskey, and fell in love foal. Through it all, they brought their flirty charm and boundless joy to every experience — and everyone — they met along their route.

This week, the ladies and their faithful truck “Bessie” are heading to Shannen’s home state of Tennessee. When he ladies go in search of Authentic Tennessee moonshine, they find the “good stuff” deep in the woods of the Smoky Mountains.
