Meet the Cast of “Little Women: NY”

Little Women: LA, Lifetime’s hit series about sexy and sassy little people, is expanding to a new city — the franchise’s spinoff, Little Women: NY, introduces seven friends who face the challenges of America’s toughest city with their unique perspectives and outlooks.

Fans of the original show may recognize Lila Call from an appearance on the L.A. series. Her visit stirred up so much drama that it led to punches being thrown, and dinners erupted into screaming matches. “I was an outsider coming in,” reveals Call. “It was like being released into The Hunger Games.” And while Call says she and her N.Y. castmates experience their fair share of drama — “We’re girls, we get jealous, we get hormonal, we get angry,” she says — at the end of the day, they’re all close friends who support each other. “We love each other and it’s worth it for us to make up and move on and move past.”

A major change to the new show’s dynamic is the inclusion of a male cast member. “I definitely can’t help but be one of the girls, when I’m surrounded by so many women,” laughs Jason Perez. “But I definitely try to maintain my unique perspective on things.” Perez says that even though he’s privy to a lot of girl talk, he tries to stay as impartial as possible. “He’s like our voice of reason,” says Call. “It’s nice to have the male perspective on a female problem, but he gets his little butt in trouble, too.”

The show also introduces some of the unique challenges that living in such a large city poses to its smaller residents. “It’s hard living in New York as an average person, but as a little person, we have to deal with more,” says Perez. And he reveals that living at belt height can lead to some awkward situations. “I could be standing on the subway, holding on to a pole, and then someone puts their butt on my hand!”

In Call’s opinion, she and her castmates differ from their West Coast counterparts because “We’re tougher; we’re grittier. We’re not in this superficial ‘Tinseltown,’ the plastic fantastic. We’re just making our way, we’re catching the subways, we’re getting our hands dirty on the banisters. It’s not all beautiful here. It’s very tough, and we deal with it.”
