We recently caught up with LL Cool J at a CBS party at the Television Critics Association Press Tour and asked him our “5 Questions”:
- How do you watch TV? Do you have cable, satellite, any home theater setup?
I do it all. I do watch satellite, I do cable. I do a lot of DVR-ing, and then I stream. I’m all over streaming. I do a lot of streaming, whether it’s Hulu or one of the other companies. Even YouTube. Netflix. … I got a really cool home theater. The curtains open, the whole bit. It’s like an old-school movie theater. It’s great. I’ve got these old, ancient Chinese doors on it. It’s cool. I love entertainment.
- Have you ever been starstruck by anybody?
Yeah. I was excited to see Meryl Streep. I think Meryl Streep is amazing. I think Susan Sarandon is amazing. There are a few people who always impressed me. Like, working with Al Pacino was great. Robert De Niro, who I know pretty well — we did a film together, but then we hung out on a couple of occasions and went out to dinner and stuff. I consider him a friend, but at the same time I’m still very impressed by his career.
- Do you have a favorite sports team?
It’s funny. I’m really a boxing fan, but I like the Yankees, the Giants. I’m a New Yorker. Between the Rangers and the Islanders, I kind of go back and forth. I kind of lean Rangers, and I do like the Islanders a little bit. Now I’m also a fan of the new NYCFC, New York City Football Club, which is really cool. I went to my first game recently at the stadium. That was crazy.
- If your refrigerator or pantry could only have three food items, what would those be?
Protein, vegetables and carbs.
- Do you have any pets?
Absolutely. I have a bearded dragon lizard, and I have two Wheaten terriers.
