Hallmark Channel’s romantic drama, When Calls The Heart returns Sunday for a third season. The historical tale of life in a frontier town stars Lori Loughlin (Fuller House), Erin Krakow (Army Wives), Daniel Lissing (Last Resort), Jack Wagner (The Bold and the Beautiful) and Kristina Wagner (General Hospital).
Last season, Elizabeth spent an extended period in her hometown of Hamilton and has finally decided to put down roots and make her stay in Hope Valley permanent. In the Season 3 premiere “Troubled Hearts,” Jack (Lissing) and Elizabeth (Krakow) struggle to find time alone together and when she surprises Jack with a row house of her very own, Elizabeth vows to fix it up without his help. Meanwhile, Abigail (Loughlin) is upset when Gowen (Martin Cummins) schemes to sell his share of her café to an even more demanding business partner and when Abigail’s ward Cody (Carter Ryan Evancic), doesn’t take seriously, Elizabeth worries Abigail is being over-protective and tension builds between the two friends. Then, the death of one of Hope Valley’s own becomes personal for Bill Avery (Wagner), and Frank (Mark Humphrey) feels his unlawful past closing in when Jesse (Aren Buchholz) demands the pastor reunite with a dangerous gang of outlaws who threaten the safety of Hope Valley.
Other big news for this season is that Brooke Shields will appear in the season’s final two episodes as Jack’s sassy mother. The actress, who also stars in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries franchise, Flower Shop Mysteries, says, ““She’s definitely a Brassy broad,” of her Annie Oakley-like character. Wouldn’t you love to see Shields become a permanent resident of Hope Valley?
