Condensing details on how water corrosive enough to destroy car parts was passed off as drinkable, the film focuses on real-life local moms LeeAnne Walters (Betsy Brandt) and Melissa Mays (Marin Ireland), who joined forces with activist Nayyirah Shariff (Jill Scott) to expose the wrongdoings, even as their own health declined.

SNL had a viral hit with last year’s Halloween-themed skit starring Tom Hanks as mysterious pumpkin-jacketed character David S. Pumpkins (“Any questions?”), and now Pumpkins gets to be the star of his own half-hour holiday special. It’s an animated story, with Hanks reprising his role in a voiceover and appearing in a live-action introduction. Mikey Day and Bobby Moynihan also reprise their roles as Pumpkins’ b-boy skeleton dancers, and Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage has a voice role. Although it’s airing in late-night, NBC says that this special is family-friendly.
