What’s It All About? Ray Shoesmith (Ryan) is kinda like the Ray Donovan of the Australian world, only not as good-looking and nowhere near as wealthy. And a bit like HBO’s Barry (Bill Hader), a man of few words but all business when on the job. This entertaining, half-hour Australian dramedy follows Ray’s dysfunctional day-to-day life as a criminal-for-hire (he’s ruthless, but he’s got a heart), a father (endearing, but loses a dollar every time he swears), an ex-husband (something got screwed up somewhere) and a best friend (you don’t want to ever cross any one of his friends). It didn’t take long to warm up to Ray’s laconic style and thick Aussie accent and commit to being all in on the success of this mate.
