This documentary uncovers the untold story behind OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush and his quest to become the next billionaire inventor by bringing oceanic exploration to the luxury tourism industry. It ultimately led to his doomed underwater endeavor in June 2023, when five passengers aboard his mini-submersible, Titan, died after it imploded in the North Atlantic during a tourist expedition to view the wreck of the Titanic.

Turner Classic Movies’ monthlong Wednesday night salute to legendary actor Gary Cooper continues this evening with five films. Among the titles are two Ernest Hemingway adaptations led by Cooper: tonight’s first film, For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943), which earned him the fourth of his five Best Actor Oscar nominations alongside Best Actress nominee Ingrid Bergman, and the Best Picture-nominated A Farewell to Arms (1932), costarring Helen Hayes and airing later in the evening. In between those titles are the two films Cooper made with Marlene Dietrich: the romantic drama Morocco (1930), which earned Dietrich a Best Actress nomination, and the romantic comedy Desire (1936). The lineup concludes early tomorrow with another romantic comedy, director Billy Wilder’s Love in the Afternoon (1957), which also stars Audrey Hepburn and Maurice Chevalier.

Orson Welles directed, cowrote and costars with his then-wife Rita Hayworth in this legendary 1947 film noir. Welles plays a seaman who meets a beautiful woman (Hayworth) and her husband (portrayed by Everett Sloane, one of Welles’ collaborators with the Mercury Theatre) aboard a yacht and ends up embroiled in a complex murder plot. The famous climax with a shootout in a hall of mirrors is just one reason why this terrifically filmed and performed production has been preserved in the National Film Registry. The film is just one highlight in today’s “Noir to Die For!” lineup on MOVIES!, which begins early this morning and continues into early tomorrow morning.

Executive producer Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as veteran CIA operative Luke Brunner in the eight-episode second season of this action comedy, which creator Nick Santora describes as “bananas.” After coming out of retirement for his last mission in saving another operative — who just so happened to be his daughter, Emma (Monica Barbaro) — Luke is back and face-to-face with new villains. One is an old flame from his past, former East German spy Greta Nelso (Carrie-Anne Moss), who threatens to destroy the world … if she doesn’t destroy Luke’s life first.

Featuring interviews with former Bunny Ranch workers, the documentary reveals how women drawn in by the promise of a better life through the glamorous world portrayed on the HBO series Cathouse instead allege they faced a hidden reality marked by bullying, humiliation, manipulation, sexual assault and even murder.

In this delightful Academy Award-winning 1962 film adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name, a charismatic con man (Robert Preston) masquerades as a band instructor to swindle the locals into paying him to create a boys’ marching band. Shirley Jones costars as the town librarian and piano instructor who wins his heart and eventually convinces the townspeople to forgive him, after he is outed by a disgruntled salesman from an earlier con. Additional costars include Buddy Hackett, Hermione Gingold, Paul Ford and Ron Howard. This film airs about midway into tonight’s TCM “The Art of the Con” spotlight, which begins earlier in the evening with the road comedy/drama Paper Moon (1973), led by Ryan O’Neal and his daughter, Tatum O’Neal, who at age 10 became the youngest winner of an Oscar when she won for Best Supporting Actress, and the 1967 comedy The Flim-Flam Man, led by George C. Scott. “Con” movies following The Music Man later tonight are the Western comedy Skin Game (1971), starring James Garner and Louis Gossett Jr., and The Swindle (1955; aka Il bidone), an Italian drama directed by Federico Fellini.

This is the latest in Lifetime’s “Girl In” franchise and is inspired by a real story. The gripping and harrowing drama sheds light on the perils of online exposure and the strength it takes to overcome the darkest of circumstances. The film follows Kelsey (Sophia Carriere), a determined young woman grieving the loss of her mother. To honor her mother’s memory, Kelsey decides to run a marathon and shares her journey online to raise money. However, her public posts catch the attention of Billy (Keenan Tracey), who has put his own dreams on hold to care for his mother Debbie (Jean Louisa Kelly). Intent on making Kelsey his wife, Billy abducts her and hides her away in the attic of the home he shares with Debbie, where she endures years of torment.

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which has expanded to 32 teams from all six FIFA confederations, kicks off tonight at Hard Rock Stadium in South Florida as Lionel Messi and Inter Miami take on Egypt’s Al Ahly.

Tonight, TCM primetime host Ben Mankiewicz is joined by actor Brian Tyree Henry, who introduces two films of his choosing. Henry will offer commentary on each title’s cultural significance and its influence on other films, behind-the-scenes stories, and his own personal reflections on them. The star has chosen a couple of acclaimed and impactful dramas dealing with various issues of race, class and gender. Up first, Lana Turner, and Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominees Juanita Moore and Susan Kohner, lead Imitation of Life (1959), the second film adaptation of Fannie Hurst’s 1933 novel that was the final film directed by Douglas Sirk. Following that is The Learning Tree (1969), a coming-of-age story written, produced, directed and scored by Gordon Parks, and based on his 1963 novel. It was the first movie directed by a Black filmmaker for a major American studio.

CONCACAF Gold Cup: Mexico vs. Dominican Republic

National squads from North America, Central America and the Caribbean, plus guest Saudi Arabia, compete in this biennial tournament taking place this year in the U.S. and Vancouver.
