This soap-opera mystery series based on the works of Swedish author Camilla Läckberg is set at a sun-soaked European resort where luxury hides secrets, lies and desire. In Season 4, the seaside sanctuary in the picturesque resort town of Saltsjövik faces fresh turmoil as long-buried truths resurface. Following the shocking assassination attempt on journalist Jakob Hallberg, Lovisa (Hanna Asp) is desperate to conceal her real identity — taking extreme measures to cover her tracks and silence those who might expose her connection to Vendela’s (Jenny Ulving McCabe) real daughter. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards and begins TCM’s block of Divine Intervention-themed films tonight.

Today marks the 110th anniversary of Frank Sinatra’s birth — and what a perfect excuse to raise a glass to the Chairman of the Board himself and celebrate the icon with a collection of some of his films. Few artists have had the charm and swagger of Ol’ Blue Eyes, where he could easily pivot between being a nightclub crooner and Hollywood movie star. Today’s lineup of films begins with 1949’s On the Town, where he stars as a wide-eyed sailor on a 24-hour leave in New York City that turns out to be a whirlwind of song, dance and romance. Then it’s High Society (1956), as Sinatra trades wisecracks and melodies with Grace Kelly and also Bing Crosby. Following are other favorites including The Man With the Golden Arm (1955), Some Came Running (1958), Ocean’s 11 (1960) and Marriage on the Rocks (1965).

It’s a jolly holiday for the legendary entertainer, who turns 100 today! Celebrate Dick Van Dyke’s centennial milestone with some of his most memorable films, starting with 1963’s Bye Bye Birdie, where Van Dyke plays struggling songwriter Albert Peterson alongside Psycho’s Janet Leigh. Then fly to England to join Van Dyke and Julie Andrews in fantastical musical adventures in the 1964 hit film Mary Poppins, as he portrays charming chimney sweep Bert. Follow it up with 1968’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang — here, Van Dyke is a widower father named Caractacus Potts who creates oddball inventions including a fancy vehicle, the film’s namesake, which becomes the source of the family’s marvelous adventures.

TCM’s Unexpected Heroes block of films today includes a favorite with 1964’s The Unsinkable Molly Brown. This is one of those golden-age musicals that still feels alive with personality, thanks almost entirely to Debbie Reynolds. She’s a powerhouse as Molly — a rough-around-the-edges Colorado dreamer who claws her way from poverty to high society, and then famously refuses to go down with the Titanic. Reynolds gives her heart and grit, making Molly as funny as she is fearless. Opposite her, Harve Presnell’s Johnny Brown adds some warmth, grounding the film’s wilder moments. Presnell was the sole member of the original Broadway cast who reprised his stage role for the film. Sure, it’s big and brassy (Reynolds singing “Belly Up to the Bar, Boys”), but beneath the show tunes is a story about resilience and reinvention that still hits home today.

Eddie “Rochester” Anderson got a rare starring role in 1943’s Cabin in the Sky, an all-Black-cast musical about a resurrected gambler given one last chance to make good (as an angel and the Devil try to influence him).
