Season Finale!
Like father, like son? That’s Special Agent Timothy McGee’s (Sean Murray) hope in tonight’s season ender of the long-running drama. Earlier this year, he found out about the 18-year-old son (The Rookie’s Patrick Keleher) he has from a previous relationship, and getting to know Mateo hasn’t been easy. Maybe spending time together at NCIS for a cyber internship tour will help break the ice? “McGee’s trying to make up for lost time,” says Murray. “He keeps trying to find that connection to build a relationship.” But will Mateo want to follow in his footsteps? The senior field agent also takes center stage in the case, an alley bombing he realizes is connected to an explosion in a café a year earlier. It becomes even more important to find those responsible. “McGee loves investigating and getting to the center of it all,” Murray says. The agents have already had their fair share of heartbreak this season when Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) died on the job in the 500th episode. How else might their world be shaken up leading into Season 24? “Expect what everyone loves about our show and then some,” Murray ominously teases.

In 1951’s Early Summer, Noriko exhibits more independence, rebuffing her family’s attempts to find her a husband. TCM Spotlight: Hollywood Biopics
TCM, beginning at 8pm
Catch a Classic!
While film trends come and go, the biopic never goes out of style. Tonight, TCM showcases five films about figures who left an indelible mark on Hollywood. The work of low-budget director Ed Wood — who practically invented the phrase “so bad it’s good” — on such campy fare as Plan 9 From Outer Space is highlighted in 1994’s Ed Wood, with Johnny Depp in the titular role. Unlike Wood’s films, which were panned by critics, Ed Wood earned the highest praise possible for Martin Landau, who won Best Supporting Actor for playing Bela Lugosi. Up next is 2004’s epic The Aviator, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, which chronicles the early years of legendary aviator and film producer Howard Hughes. Actress Diana Barrymore, who purportedly died of a drug overdose at age 38, and the “Barrymore curse” are explored in 1958’s Too Much, Too Soon, based on her autobiography. Next, 1961’s The George Raft Story traces the life of the titular gangster-film actor whose career was derailed by poor choices. The lineup concludes with 1953’s The Actress, a dramedy about Ruth Gordon’s (Jean Simmons) quest to perform on Broadway.
