Big “Wheel” Keeps On Turnin’

Posted By RabbitEars The iconic game show Wheel of Fortune is still spinning after 26 years and now celebrates a landmark anniversary — its 5,000th show, airing Feb. 27 (in syndication; check local listings). Over the course of 5,000 episodes, Wheel has welcomed 15,000 contestants (way too many of whom have frittered away their money on unnecessary vowels), awarded nearly $200 million in cash and prizes, traveled and taped on location 56 times in front of live audiences totaling more than 350,000 fans, and likely made Pat, Vanna and Merv millionaires several times over. Not bad for a simple variation […]

Danica McKellar Part Of The Science Channel Equation

Posted By Jeff Pfeiffer Mathematics has been referred to as the “Queen of the Sciences.” But the “Queen of Math” may very well be Danica McKellar. The actress best known as Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years also happens to be quite brilliant — she graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and while there helped author a paper with a professor and another student called the “Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem.” Please don’t make me try to explain what it’s about.

“Girl Next Door” In A New Neighborhood

Posted By RabbitEars Former Hugh Hefner girlfriend and co-star of E!’s The Girls Next Door Kendra Wilkinson is starring in her own TV series, E! announced today. In the new series tentatively titled Kendra, the buxom blond leaves behind the luxury of the Playboy Mansion to plan her wedding to mediocre Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett. It’s another fish-out-of-water story with a formerly pampered star having to adjust to day-to-day duties like laundry, paying bills, etc., without the benefit of a secretary and 24-7 room service. Sort of a model’s version of Survivorman. Kendra’s family is supposedly “understandably anxious” […]

At a press conference today, the discovery of one of Britain’s greatest historic shipwrecks, the HMS Victory, was announced. Crushin’ on Nickelodeon

Posted By RabbitEars Isn’t it romantic? Well, not to me, personally, but I’m sure plenty of teeny- and tweeny-boppers will be crushing on Nickelodeon’s “Crush Night” programming event, airing Feb. 7, the week before Valentine’s Day, from 8-9:30pm ET/PT. Pop idol David Archuleta and iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove co-host the event, which celebrates teen romance with songs (Archuleta performs his current hit “Crush”) and the premieres of some new episodes of hot Nick shows. First up, Archuleta plays himself in “iRocked the Vote,” a new episode of iCarly, as a contestant on an American Idol-like singing competition series who gets […]
