Almost every year around Oscar nominations time, the question tends to be asked about where the black filmmakers and actors are among the nominees. Women of color in particular seem to be left out of the Oscar conversation on many occasions. BET will again be airing the BET Honors, with the BET Honors 2015 airing on the network Feb. 23 at 9pm ET in a taped broadcast. Wayne Brady hosts the ceremony for the second year. The BET Honors pays tribute to the contributions of African Americans in the areas of education, theater, business and technology, music and innovation. Adventure Time miniseries, Powerpuff Girls reboot among Cartoon Network’s upfront slate

Cartoon Network released its programming slate for the 2015-16 upfront season, and among the highlights are an Adventure Time miniseries and a reboot of The Powerpuff Girls. In the special Adventure Time miniseries, Finn and Jake face a new threat to Ooo when Princess Bubblegum’s experiment unleashes ghosts from Marceline’s past. It was never one of my favorites, but you have to hand it to Two and a Half Men — like other Chuck Lorre productions (looking at you, The Big Bang Theory), the series has maintained remarkable staying power despite airdate changes, cast changes, infighting and generally lukewarm critical response. Amazon greenlights full seasons of “The Man in the High Castle,” other original series

After becoming Amazon’s most-watched pilot ever back in January, the original series The Man in the High Castle has been extended to a full season, Amazon announced today. The drama is based on Philip K. Dick’s Hugo Award-winning 1962 alternate-history novel set in a world where the Axis powers of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan won World War II and have split much of the world, including the United States, between them. Amazon’s development process allows customers to provide feedback on pilots they want to see turned into series. The 2015 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, the 139th installment of America’s second-longest continuously held sporting event, will again air on CNBC and USA Network, Feb. 16 and 17, respectively. This year, two new breeds officially recognized by the American Kennel Club will make their debut at Westminster. The additions include the Coton de Tulear, competing in the Non-Sporting Group, and the Wirehaired Vizsla, competing in the Sporting Group. Destination America is becoming a network that seems heavily focused on paranormal programming. In February, the network debuted the new series True Supernatural, Ghosts in My House and Ghostly Encounters, and the channel has a backlog of other monster- and ghost-related programs in its library.
