In the wake of the devastating tornado that hit the Oklahoma City area last week, Blake Shelton — who was born and raised in Oklahoma, and currently resides in the city of Tishomingo — has organized and will headline the telethon event, “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” on May 29 in Oklahoma City. The prolific Tyler Perry is premiering two new series on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network over the course of two nights, May 28 and 29 — a one-hour ensemble drama called The Haves and the Have Nots on May 28, and the sitcom Love Thy Neighbor on May 29. The Weather Channel has announced that it will be debuting a one-hour special called The Oklahoma Tornado Tragedy: A Weather Channel Special Presentation Thursday, May 23, at 9pm ET. The program looks at the massive, EF5 tornado that devastated the town of Moore, Oklahoma, on May 20, killing at least 24, injuring hundreds, and potentially leaving upward of $2 billion worth of damage in its wake. The former NBC genealogy documentary series Who Do You Think You Are? is being resurrected by TLC, which has ordered eight new hourlong episodes to begin airing July 23, the network announced.
