88th Academy Awards Winners List And Recap

Tonight is Hollywood’s most anticipated night. When the dreams of a handful come true and for the rest, “It was an honor just to be nominated.” Here’s a rundown of the night’s most buzzworthy events and a list of winners that I’ll update as the night goes on. The opening montage showed clips from best, most explosive and most quotable cinematic moments from the past year. Then, Chris Rock opened the 88th Annual Academy Awards broadcast with a scathing commentary about the awards’ failure to nominate African American artists. The hashtag #OscarsSoWhite trended all night long and the comedian quipped, “I counted at […]

OWN To Air “2016 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards”

The night before the 88th Annual Academy Awards — which has largely been criticized with its lack of racial diversity and has spawned the hashtag #OscarsSo White — OWN celebrates some of the most powerful women in Hollywood with the primetime broadcast of the 2016 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards. The annual ceremony, held in the week leading up to the Academy Awards, shines a spotlight on African-American women who are pushing the limits, raising the bar and breaking through barriers in both film and television. Honorees at the ninth annual ceremony include black-ish actress Tracee Ellis Ross (Fierce […]

Kelly Clarkson’s Tear-Jerking Performance On “American Idol”

In Thursday night’s episode of American Idol, the aging reality series showed why it’s a shell of what it once was. The series announced the final 10 contestants in its final season: MacKenzie Bourg, Trent Harmon, Gianna Isabella, Lee Jean, Tristan McIntosh, Dalton Rapattoni, La’Porsha Renae, Olivia Rox, Sonika Vaid and Avalon Young. Four of the contestants were unanimously chosen by the judges last night — Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. — and the remaining six were chosen by America’s votes. Recap Little Women: Atlanta Episode 5 “Bad Apples”

It’s been a busy week, Atlanta-lovers! Last week, after I posted my interview with Miss Minnie, I was contacted by Ms. Juicy’s team. She wanted to respond to Minnie’s statements. Of course, I was thrilled to let the Queen of the ATL speak her mind, so on Monday, we had a chat that was in a word — juicy. Ms. Juicy shared called Minnie a liar several times saying not only was Minnie’s relationship with Troy a lie, so is her pregnancy. Read the sizzle here. On to the episode! We know there’s going to be a fight tonight, and […]

Little Women: Atlanta Drama — Ms. Juicy Says Minnie Is Lying

On Monday, Feb. 22, I interviewed Ms. Juicy from Little Women: Atlanta. The feisty red-head reached out to me after I’d profiled Miss Minnie and wanted to add her side of the story. That interview, including the origin of her famous moniker and catch phrase, her status as a radio personality, and more on her fight with Monie will come later. But first, I wanted to put up the most explosive part of our interview, where Ms. Juicy called Minnie a liar and said that Minnie’s recently announced pregnancy (which was confirmed to me by a source close to Minnie) is […]

“Dirty Dancing” Casts Its Johnny

Lionsgate and ABC have found their Johnny to star in the upcoming three-hour filmed musical event, Dirty Dancing. At this time, no date for the spectacular has been announced. Singer/dancer/actor Colt Prattes (P!nk’s music video “Try”, Rock of Ages) will be showing Baby (Abigail Breslin) the time of her life as romantic lead Johnny, a charismatic, skilled dance instructor and leader of the working-class entertainment staff at a 1960’s Catskill Mountains resort. I am in a awe of this video, and the subsequent performance during the 2012 AMA’s, so I’m so pleased for this talented performer to get the attention he deserves. […]
