Preview: Super Bowl XLIX Commercials

Super Bowl XLIX is less than a week away, and we’re already seeing some of the big-budget ads that will play during the big game. Each 30-second spot costs advertisers $4.5 million, so it’s no wonder that companies try to get a little more bang our of their advertising buck by getting eyeballs on their messages prior to gameday. Releasing commercials prior to the game also allows advertisers to create a longer message than the pricy 30-second spots that will air on Super Bowl Sunday. As commercials become available, we’ll post them here.  And check back on Monday, Feb. 2, for […]

Kids TV: Bella and the Bulldogs on Nickelodeon

I really wanted Bella and the Bulldogs to be great. I really did. I would have settled for it to be good. But instead it’s more of the same. I had high hopes for Nickelodeon’s newest live-action comedy, Bella and the Bulldogs the laugh track-backed story of a girl as she bolts from the sidelines to the headlines as the quarterback of her middle school football team. When I read the show’s logline, I imagined an opportunity for Nickelodeon to step away from the bouncy-haired starlets who make up its cavalry of talent and portray an athlete as someone who […]

TCA: MasterChef Junior- New Judge And Season 3 KidTestants

It is no secret that I prefer MasterChef Junior to its adult counterpart, and thankfully, the folks at FOX believe the same. After the success of the show’s second season, a third season was quickly ushered to air, and a fourth season has just finished casting and will commence production in the next few months. This season, chef Joe Bastianich has left the MasterChef judging panel, but Christina Tosi, from Momofuku Milk Bar has joined the franchise and we’ll see her in the show’s next cycle (MasterChef, Season 6) where she will join Chefs Gordon Ramsay and Graham Elliot. Also […]

Parks & Recreation’s Aziz Ansari Reveals What he Wanted to Steal From Set…But Didn’t

At the conclusion of the hilarious Television Critics Association winter press tour panel celebration the finale season of Parks and Recreation, I grabbed Aziz Ansari and asked him if he’d ganked anything from the P&R set at the series’ conclusion. Surprisingly, the comedian hadn’t. “I always meant to,” he confessed. “But I forgot.” When I asked him what he wished he’d taken, Ansari said that Tom had an Entertainment 720 Rubik’s cube that he really liked. The prop had the faces of the Entertainment 720 peeps on it. Ansari thought for a moment and then said that maybe he should contact someone […]
