It’s new set night for our Top 12. We’ve gone Imperial Senate on Star Wars with the stage and the opening graphics. This means I have to work Star Wars references throughout this recap. There’s an exciting new ‘mosh pit’ in front of the judges. I bet they love that. The thing I like about this particular night is that it’s the first time these kids are actually performing live. by WindUpDoll First up is a performance by Blake Lewis. Now, during last season, I really liked a lot of things Blake did. He made songs a bit more interesting. However, he starts off this performance with some of his not finest beat-boxing. See, when you do that to a Bon Jovi song you’re unique. With your own ‘composition’ it’s just pedestrian. Cut the original crap & just redo a Morrissey album already. And suits shouldn’t be that shiny. We cut to a lot of filler. A lot of filler. I fast-forward through a lot of filler.

She’s singing ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody.’ She’s rocking the trendy high-waisted pants. Paula is dancing. Will anyone take on a Paula song? We’ll have to wait and see. Asia’h is just ok. by WindUpDoll These results shows are sheer artistry in their filler. There is absolutely no reason to watch the results show, except to find out who gets the boot. And to see the cheesy group number. But, if Idol only gave us what we wanted, the show would last about 5 minutes.
