ABC to rebroadcast big-performing pilot episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

ABC debuted Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last night, and it became TV’s highest-rated new drama in nearly four years, and ABC’s best season-opening Tuesday in three years. If you happened to miss it, ABC will be re-airing the pilot episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD this Thursday, Sept. 26, at 8pm ET. On its first airing, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. opened strong, becoming No. 1 in the 8pm hour with Adults 18-49 (4.6/14), and actually beating NBC’s Tuesday premiere of The Voice by 15% (4.0/12) and CBS’ season premiere of NCIS by 35% (3.4/10). AMC has taken a shine to spinoffs, it seems. Fresh off last week’s news that Saul Goodman, the Breaking Bad character played by Bob Odenkirk, would be getting his own prequel series, the tony cabler announced today that The Walking Dead spinoff is a go. People were expecting, or at least speculating, on the Better Call Saul idea, but this one seems to have sprung up out of nowhere. TCA: CW wants to expand upon DC universe, may spin off Flash series from “Arrow”

At The CW executive panel this morning, network president Mark Pedowitz addressed the Television Critics Association (TCA) Summer 2013 Press Tour gathering. Among the things he talked about was how the upcoming season of The CW’s hit series Arrow will feature an origin story for Barry Allen — better known to comic book fans as The Flash. The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere date announced

AMC has announced that The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere will air Sunday, Oct. 13 at 9pm ET/PT. Like previous outings, the 16-episode season will air in two parts, with the second 8-episode outing bowing in February 2014. The popular live after-show Talking Dead, hosted by Chris Hardwick, will air immediately following new episodes of The Walking Dead at 10pm ET/PT. Disney XD debuting two new Marvel animated series, including “Avengers Assemble”
