By Jeff Pfeiffer NBC’s The Biggest Loser is launching a 15-city cross-country search to find new contestants for Season 9 of the weight-loss competition series, set to air in early 2010 (Season 8 begins this September). Casting producers are looking for outgoing and charismatic family teams of two (parent/child, siblings, husbands and wives, couples, cousins, in-laws, etc.). Individuals who don’t have a partner can audition on their own. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and legal U.S. residents. We have older women seeking love on TV Land’s The Cougar, America’s Next Top Model is searching for more petite women than usual for next season, and now FOX has announced a new dating competition series for plus-size people, set to premiere later this year.

By RabbitEars After 12 cycles of seeking supermodel wannabes with a minimum height requirement of 5’7″ — the industry standard — Tyra Banks and America’s Next Top Model are setting their sights lower for Cycle 13. As you may have heard, possibly from Channel Guide Magazine, NBC is “reinventing” the “classic” (at least, according to ESPN Classic) early ’90s competition series American Gladiators. But in order to do that, they first need some competitors — and some gladiators.
