Chris Hardwick’s “@ midnight” to temporarily change time slot

From Sept. 8-17, Comedy Central’s hit series @midnight with Chris Hardwick will move an hour earlier to 11pm ET/PT, followed by new episodes of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore. @midnight will return to its regular (and self-titled) midnight ET/PT time slot on Sept. 21, following The Nightly Show. The cast and creators of Fox’s sure-bet comedy The Grinder — starring Fred Savage and Rob Lowe as sparring brothers, the former an attorney and the latter who just played one on TV — took questions from reporters yesterday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. ABC presented a panel on its anticipated new series The Muppets yesterday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, letting the show’s EPs Bill Prady and Bob Kushell and stars Kermit the Frog and a tardy Miss Piggy entertain reporters for a lively half hour. As Comedy Central’s Drunk History revolutionized the way we look at the past, IFC’s Documentary Now! (Thursdays beginning Aug. 20) hopes to alter how we remember some of history’s most important documentary films. It turns out that Craig Robinson’s (The Office) new NBC comedy has more in common with its star than just a name. In Mr. Robinson, Robinson plays a musician who substitute teaches a Chicago high-school music class to pay the bills. “I came up in Chicago, taught in Chicago, and I have a band named The Nasty Delicious,” Robinson says of the similarities between him and his character. “And of course I’ve got a crush on [costar] Meagan Good.
