Tori Spelling And Jennie Garth Reunite For “Mystery Girls”

Long before Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian became symbols of the “good life” for our society’s youth, the kids from Beverly Hills, 90210 were shaping our idea of what a high-end lifestyle could mean to teenagers. But regardless of their tax brackets, the real heart of that show was the close bond between the characters — in particular, Tori Spelling’s Donna Martin and Jennie Garth’s Kelly Taylor. Now, more than 20 years after they first met, Garth and Spelling are reuniting onscreen in Mystery Girls, a new ABC Family comedy, airing Wednesdays, that Spelling herself helped develop. Still […]

MTV’s “Awkward.” Returns For Senior Year

MTV’s teen dramedy Awkward. premieres its newest season on Tuesday, April 15.  Season 4 chronicles senior year for fictitious Palos Hills High School, so what challenges will the gang face this year? I chatted with Greer Grammer, who plays vapid but sweet Lissa, for the details on senior year. “We have college apps, college tours, class rankings come out, so it’s funny to see with all of Jenna’s misbehavior from last season where she is as far as school is concerned. There’s lots of fun stuff with Jenna and Tamara, and Jake and Tamara have their own thing, Jake kind […]

Silicon Valley: Mike Judge (computer) geeks out with new HBO comedy

Before he made us simultaneously blush and belly laugh with irreverent comedies like 1999’s Office Space and the edgy animated sitcoms Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill, Mike Judge spent the late ’80s putting his physics degree to use as a Silicon Valley engineer. Now Judge commemorates that experience in HBO’s new live-action comedy Silicon Valley, which focuses on socially awkward computer programmer Richard (Thomas Middleditch) and his trio of comrades who live in the home of eccentric millionaire Erlich (T.J. Miller) while plotting a startup of their own. In exchange for free accommodations at his “Hacker Hostel,” […]

Kids, here’s how “How I Met Your Mother” ended

So there you have it, kids. Nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother all came down to “Last Forever,” encapsulating into one tidy hour everything that happens to Ted, Barney, Robin, Marshall, Lily and The Mother from 2013-2030. ALSO SEE: 6 big questions for the How I Met Your Mother series finale There were few surprises, maybe a tear or two. Overall, I felt the finale to be satisfying but unspectacular, the only twist being that there really wasn’t a major twist. Here are my big takeaways from the episode: The Mother Is Dead. Yep. They called you insane […]

6 big questions for the How I Met Your Mother finale

After nine seasons, we’ll finally learn how (or if) Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) found marital bliss with “The Mother” (Cristin Milioti) in the two-part How I Met Your Mother finale, “Last Forever,” airing Monday, March 31, at 8pm ET/PT. Fourth and final season of “The Boondocks” coming to Adult Swim

Still enjoying re-airs of The Boondocks on Saturday nights, I had been wondering if the animated series was still in production, and according to a release today from Adult Swim, it is. The fourth and final season of The Boondocks will begin April 21 at 10:30pm ET/PT. However, this season is going to be produced without the involvement of Aaron McGruder — who created the series and the original comic strip on which it is based. According to the release, a mutually agreeable production schedule could not be determined. I hope McGruder’s lack of involvement does not diminish what has […]
