Duck Dynasty recap: “Till Duck Do Us Part”

Finally, after a nearly four-month wait, during which we had salary disputes, cast additions, weird guest star appearances and rumors of Willie seeking political office, we can just relax and settle in for another Duck Dynasty recap. The Robertson family gets back in action with an hourlong episode that seeks to correct an oversight of nearly 50 years ago, when Phil and Miss Kay got married not in a church with all their friends and family, but down-and-dirty style at the Justice of the Peace. Well, as their anniversary approaches, the family — OK, the wives, namely Korie and Jessica […]

Clear History on HBO pits Larry David against Jon Hamm

Clear History on HBO finds the “Mad Men” honcho Jon Hamm battling it out with Larry David.  It’s been a while for Larry David fans. The Curb Your Enthusiasm star has taken his usual time between projects, this time exerting his creative energies on the HBO comedy film Clear History debuting Saturday, Aug. 10 at 9pm ET/PT, which he cowrote. David stars as hippie-looking marketing executive Nathan Flomm from a startup electric car company — he looks like “The Dude” from The Big Lebowski or, as costar Danny McBride says in the film, “the guy who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart.” He’s […]

7 Questions With Brian “Q” Quinn of truTV’s “Impractical Jokers”

You get the sense that wherever you might encounter them, talking to one of the four guys who make up truTV’s Impractical Jokers would be a fun time.  And it’s true, the quartet of Joe Gatto, James “Murr” Murray, Sal Vulcano and Brian “Q” Quinn are just as down-to-earth and good-natured as they appear on their prank show, which returns with new episodes tonight at 10pm. But getting to talk to “Q” at Comic-Con in San Diego added a unique flavor. Sitting in a downtown breakfast spot made over to be the epicenter of an Impractical Jokers media blitz, the […]

7 Questions With … Wayne Knight of TV Land’s “The Exes”

Newman, Dennis Nedry, the chicken-suit guy from Toy Story 2, the sweaty cop who saw up Sharon Stone’s skirt in Basic Instinct … Wayne Knight has brought them all to life, carving out a particular niche for himself with characters that are off-putting at best to those onscreen and irresistible to viewers. His latest gig is playing Haskell Lutz on TV Land’s sitcom The Exes, about three divorced men who become roommates as they try to rebuild their lives. The gig reunites him with his 3rd Rock From the Sun costar Kristen Johnston, who plays the trio’s divorce lawyer who […]

TCA: Robin Williams’ funniest moments at “The Crazy Ones” panel

At the TCA Summer 2013 Press Tour on Monday, CBS presented a panel for its new sitcom The Crazy Ones, marking the return to network television of Sarah Michelle Gellar and, most notably, Robin Williams. Williams and Gellar play a father/daughter team who run an ad agency, with the father an unorthodox advertising genius, and the daughter a more focused and organized professional. As most fans know, turning Robin Williams loose in the role of an “unorthodox” character can lead to plenty of improvisation and riffing (and that seems evident right from the pilot episode), and creator and executive producer […]

Rob Lowe excited to reprise Eddie Nero character in “Californication”

When he sat down with me at the Television Critics Association (TCA) 2013 Summer Press Tour to discuss his upcoming NGC film Killing Kennedy, Rob Lowe also touched on some of his other projects, including his return to the hit Showtime comedy Californication. The series, which will air its seventh season on Showtime in 2014, is currently shooting in Los Angeles, and Rob Lowe told me that he has completed the filming of his guest-starring role as eccentric, combustible film star Eddie Nero, a role Lowe first played on the show in 2011, during Season 4. “Yes!” said Lowe excitedly, […]
