TCA: NBC announces late-night shakeup, new shows

Jeff Gaspin, NBC Universal Television Entertainment chairman, announced Sunday that as of Feb. 12, The Jay Leno Show will no longer air at 10pm ET. This cuts short the 52-week trial balloon Gaspin had hoped to grant Leno’s primetime experiment, but affiliate pressure stemming from the negative effect Leno’s lead-in was having on local news broadcast forced the exec’s hand. Earth, Wind & Fire record “Cleveland Show” holiday song

From FOX: December 4, 2009, Los Angeles, CA – Legendary R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire has teamed up with animated character Cleveland Brown of The Cleveland Show to record a new holiday song called “Get Your Hump On This Christmas.” The song, as well as a companion music video that features animated versions of the band’s members, is currently available for purchase on iTunes and will be available as a free download exclusively on iTunes for one week beginning December 8.

The music of “Glee”: Mattress

Most Glee fans were probably glad to see the storyline involving Terri’s fake pregnancy come to an end, but it seemed to come at an expense. Sure, there were a few performances, but none of them made much of an impact. The first song of the episode is a duet by Rachel (Lea Michelle) and Finn (Cory Monteith) on “Smile” by Lily Allen. The song isn’t the best showcase for either singer, particularly Rachel, because the vocals simply aren’t all that challenging.
