Recap: Fargo Season 2, Episode 7 – Poking the Bear

At the end of last week’s episode of Fargo, we were left with so many outstanding questions. Was Dodd (Jeffrey Donovan) dead? Was Floyd (Jean Smart) dead? Someone must have been dead! If you think a lot went down in that episode, sit down and get ready for an action-packed follow-up. • FARGO Season 2 recaps: Episode 1 | Epsiode 2 | Episode 3 | Episode 4 | Episode 5 | Episode 6 The writers managed to redeem last week’s low body count in the first few minutes of “Did you do this? No, you did it!” It actually reminded […]

Jane the Virgin Chapter 29 recap: Solano Secrets

Jane has finally agreed to go on a date with Rafael! Is it sad that I’m almost as excited as they are? The only problem is if they need to hire someone to watch Mateo in order to make some time for themselves — and Jane doesn’t want to. Looks like Jane will have to find a babysitter she trusts in this week’s Jane the Virgin. Since the Villanueva family just had their traditional family Thanksgiving, they head to Target for their other family tradition — Black Friday shopping. One ghost from the past that Jane didn’t expect to see while shopping […]

Recap: The Affair Season 2 episode 8 — From the mouths of babes

This far into Season 2 of Showtime’s The Affair, I have to admit, I’m a little done with episodes that attempt to pass off wildly different versions of the same events as the mysterious workings of two separate minds. While this episode was intriguing — bringing Noah and Helen together for the most substantial amount of time since he bolted for the writers cabin — I gave up on figuring out how to meld the two versions into a probable truth. We learned some not-so-surprising stuff about Whitney in the front end of Helen’s parcel. After that: There was a book signing. Helen was there. Noah […]

We flash back 14 hours; Michaela wants to get rid of the gun. Caleb found the murder weapon, but didn’t want to tell Catherine for fear she would admit to the Hapstall crime. Catherine runs away. Empire Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Born a Lyon

This week’s episode of Empire is starting off with a bang. Lucious wants to make sure Hakeem knows what he’s missing out on. He calls Hakeem out by having Freda perform the new song she made with Lucious. It’s right there in the lyrics: Lucious has some serious beef with Hakeem. Daddy’s little favorite is no longer Hakeem; she’s Freda. Ouch! That has to hurt on so many levels. In order to prove himself to the world, Hakeem announces that he’ll be battling Freda for his last name. Nobody can just “become” a Lyon. You have to be born one. Things aren’t […]

FX cancels The Bastard Executioner — our recap of the TBX series finale

Moment of silence for our beloved show, fellow fans of The Bastard Executioner. If you haven’t already heard, FX cancelled the series on Tuesday with creator Kurt Sutter’s reluctant blessing, citing the cost to make the ambitious series on location in Wales versus its unfortunately low live ratings. I’m disappointed for any number of reasons. Perhaps most of all, because this is a show that was made for a binge watch, especially given its complexity. With the winter TV doldrums at our doorstep — along with holiday vacation time — I’m virtually certain more folks would have found and invested […]

Supergirl Season 1 Episode 4 Recap: Livewire

The Thanksgiving episode of “Supergirl” aired a week early after the one originally scheduled this week was pulled out of respect to the victims of the terrorist attack in Paris. Dr. Eliza Danvers comes to town, and she isn’t happy about Kara coming out in the public eye as Supergirl. The mom blames the older daughter Alex for this. It wouldn’t be a holiday without some family drama, even ones involving a superhero and undercover agent. A flashback shows Kara as a young girl testing out her flying powers with Alex reluctantly joining her. Later, the parents catch them when […]

Jane the Virgin Chapter 28 recap: Double the Trouble

On the last episode of Jane the Virgin, Michael got into it with Rafael. He even pushed Rafael into the table in true WWE fashion. Since then, Jane has been trying to cope with how she’ll survive without Michael in her life. Remember when we left off with Nadine holding a gun up to Michael’s head? Turns out he was the one that got in contact with her. He wants Nadine’s help with catching Sin Rostro since she’s ruined his life and hers. Looks like it’s a good idea that Jane isn’t including Michael in her life right now. Jane […]

Recap: Fargo Season 2, Episode 6 – A Shocking Development

At the end of last week’s episode of Fargo, we knew what was coming. Even Ed (Jesse Plemons) and Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) knew what was coming. It was the police, looking for Ed after a guy rose up from the ashes of Bud’s Butcher Shop with a meat cleaver buried in his head. • FARGO Season 2 recaps: Episode 1 | Epsiode 2 | Episode 3 | Episode 4 | Episode 5 So really, it’s no surprise that “Rhinoceros” kicks off with Ed getting arrested. Peggy doesn’t seem too happy about it, which makes sense. All of this is 100-percent […]
