Nurse Jackie recap Season 7, Episode 5 — it’s all about Coop (tissue please)

Nurse Jackie recap Season 7, Episode 5 “Coop Out” (original airdate May 10, 2015) As the title implies, this episode sees Dr. Fitch “Coop” Cooper (Peter Facinelli) making his final rounds and a pretty heartfelt goodbye (yep, I almost cried), but before we go there, here’s the rundown on the episode. It’s all about Jackie (Edie Falco) and Eddie (Paul Schulze) – and they got that thing everybody wants. Jackie thinks it’s the suitcase of drugs that Eddie is towing in his pharma-bag, Eddie thinks it’s a special kind of love. He’d do anything for her, and he kisses her […]

Outlander “The Search” Episode 14 (original airdate May 9, 2015) The staff at Lallybroch is in a scurry preparing to search for their missing laird. Jenny is delegating the tasks with her newborn baby in arm. Ian (Steven Cree) is frustrated — recouping in a chair, with his arm in a sling — and demands to know what Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) plan is. “I intend to get my husband back,” she tells. Clearly, she can’t go alone and Ian knows it. He tries to take a moment to gather his strength, but the man lost his leg (his fake one […]

5 Questions With...

5 Questions with … Emily VanCamp of ABC’s Revenge

On ABC’s soapy, vengeance-filled drama Revenge, Emily VanCamp has played Emily Thorne — a beautiful woman seeking revenge against the people who wronged her father — for four seasons. When I spoke with VanCamp in January, she promised, “There’s lots of juicy stuff coming up with some great twists,” and the actress didn’t disappoint as this season has been rife with plotting, deception and murderous intent. When asked what will finally end the wrath of Emily Thorne, Van Camp laughed, “It’s Revenge,” she said. “It never stops.” Sadly, the show’s series finale will air May 10, but while executive producer […]

Preview: CBS Hawaii Five-0 two-part Season 5 finale Friday

Two back-to-back episodes are part of the Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 finale airing on CBS Friday, May 8, beginning at 9pm ET/PT. While Five-0 works the case of a murdered bounty hunter who apprehended a dangerous killer, Danny’s (Scott Caan) ex-wife reveals a shocking secret to him that will change his life forever in the first new episode “Luapo’i (Prey).” In the second hour, while some season finales have weddings, other season finales have explosions. The Hawaii Five-0 Season 5 finale could have both when, on the eve of Kono’s (Grace Park) wedding, Five-0 learns that a stolen nuclear bomb […]

American Crime Episode 10 recap

American Crime Episode 10 featured a number of role reversals among characters, from some leaving jail and others going (back) in, to Barb and Russ almost switching places, in a way. The episode began with Hector (Richard Cabral) back in jail and being awakened in his cell, clearly at some wee hour of the night/morning. Not even able to get fully dressed, a tired Hector is brought before a detective who had taken his statement about Carter and what happened the night of Matt and Gwen’s attack. The detective keeps coming back to the gun that Hector assured him was […]

Interview with Peter Facinelli of NBC’s “American Odyssey”

At January’s Television Critic’s Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour, I sat down with the stars of NBC’s American Odyssey (then called Odyssey), to chat about the character-driven drama. Peter Facinelli shared what drives his character, also named Peter. Below is our conversation, edited slightly for clarity. Is this the first time you’re playing a character named Peter? It is! Ironically, the actress playing my wife is Sarah Winter, and her character’s name is Sarah in the show. It’s very easy on set to be called by your character name. In American Odyssey, what drives Peter, your character? When I sat down to […]

Jane the Virgin Chapter 21 Recap: Just Like Old Times

There’s only one more episode before the season one finale of Jane the Virgin and I’m not sure how I’m going to be able to handle Mondays without it. Either way, I’m going to make sure to enjoy these last two episodes of the show since I know they’re going to be filled with lots of drama. Just how I like it! Jane’s known for planning everything out in her life so there are no surprises. That’s why when something as crazy and unplanned as becoming a pregnant virgin popped up into her life, she didn’t exactly know where to […]

Mad Men Season 7 Episode 12 recap: Don is floating in a most peculiar way

Don’s new apartment is almost ready. If he’ll just choose paint, he could move in next week. Despite Meredith’s efforts to ground Don, we know he’ll never live there. And though Jim Hobart and Ferg make him say it – “I’m Don Draper from McCann Erickson” – we know he never will be. In this lyrical, reference-laden episode called “Lost Horizon,” Shangri-La is lost to Draper and company. Can Don find it again? Will he even try? McCann is mission control, Harry informs Roger as the computer is wheeled out of SCP’s rapidly emptying offices: statisticians, programmers, 15 people just […]

HAPPYish Episode 2 Recap

HAPPYish is starting to grow on me even more. There wasn’t quite as much of the profanity for profanity’s sake tonight (just the right amount of vulgarity this time around), and it had some dark comedic moments that kept me glued to the screen. Episode 2 starts like episode 1, with a rant and a middle-finger-salute, but this time from Lee, the lead female role on the show (Thom’s wife). The rant–and much of the episode–focuses on Lee’s mother, “Mama,” who is a “sh*tty mom.” Perfect moms like Carol Brady (subject of aforementioned rant) only made Lee resent Mama that […]

Who’s The Bloody King Of England?!? Recap: The Royals Episode 8

So we waited patiently for a whole week while King Simon lay in hospital (Like the Brits say, Guv’na) and to tide us over, the real British Royal Family welcomes a new princess to the world. Awww. What if they name her Eleanor?! Would that be redic or redunk?   The ep opens with Prince Liam taking the royal oath, and I get a funny feeling in my tummy that doesn’t bode well for King Simon. I know his character had been relegated to a smaller part, but I love when he went Ape-sh!t on Helena and Cyrus last week. […]
