Raising Asia Recap Episodes 8 and 9: Blood, Sweat and Tears

This week on Raising Asia, it’s Asia’s big debut performance of her new single at Planet Hollywood. Things are a bit tense (but when aren’t they?) because Shawn has to fly to Dallas for work and miss Asia’s performance. He makes sure to remind Billy what they talked about beforehand about him possibly losing his manager position. If this Planet Hollywood performance isn’t perfect then, it’ll be the last performance he’ll work on with Asia. Adding to what seems to be a never-ending battle between Anthony and Billy, Anthony comes up right before the show with some great news. He […]

ABC To Celebrate Schoolhouse Rock With Primetime Special

Just in case you finally got the words from Conjunction Junction and I’m Just a Bill out of your head, ABC is bringing beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs to TV in a one-night-only primetime special. The alphabet network announced yesterday that the special The ABC’s Of Schoolhouse Rock, will even dare to countdown the 5 best songs from the cartoon series. I think it’s preposterous to even try to rank them, it’s like picking your favorite child. But I had to choose, here’s my vote for #1. (I’ve always wondered if the voice of the boy is the same kid who […]

Disney Channel’s “I Didn’t Do It” Gets Help From Famous Bears

Sunday’s all-new episode of Disney Channel’s series, I Didn’t Do It, gets a little help from a few Monsters of the Midway when NFL Legend Dick Butkus and Chicago Bears Wide Receiver Alshon Jeffery play themselves in guest starring roles. Chicago twins Lindy and Logan Watson and their best friends, Jasmine, Garret and Delia are working their way through freshman year. Unfortunately, wacky things always seem to happen to them, and they are often left to explain exactly what happened. In “Ball or Nothing,” Lindy and Logan accidentally destroy their father’s football signed by NFL Hall of Famer Dick Butkus, […]

Raising Asia Recap Episodes 6 and 7: Who Wears the Pants?

This week on Raising Asia the battle between Anthony and Billy rages on. Since Billy is Asia’s manager (along with his other 20 roles), he books Asia to perform at an upcoming artist’s album release party. The artist is named Dario and, like Anthony, I have no idea who he is. Which makes me wonder even more why Kristie would allow her daughter — the next Beyoncé — to perform as an opening act for someone no one has heard of? Hmm… In case we forgot how much of a control freak Kristie is, let’s go over exactly what she […]

Raising Asia Recap Episodes 4 & 5: Kid Star or Mega Star?

On tonight’s two-episode Raising Asia event, it seems things haven’t changed much since we last visited the Ray family. Kristie is still coaching Asia’s every move while practicing-as if she knows how to dance that way herself. Things at home are no different as Nana Vicky is still visiting for a couple more weeks to help around the house and pay attention to poor little Bella. Anthony and Billy seem to continue to be on two different planets when it comes to where they want to take Asia’s career. Anthony calls Kristie to let her know about a manager, Tina, […]

Raising Asia recap Episode 3: Oh, Mother(s)!

I’m just going to put this out there, fellow Raising Asia curious (it’s far, far too soon to call myself a fan). The real star of this thing is Bella Blu Ray. I would like Bella Blu Ray on Blu Ray and DVD, just so I can repeatedly watch her freak out with happiness about her dad or say “Asia can sing this much” while making a dime-size circle with her hand and just skip the part where everyone else is cranky with each other. But we start out this episode with everyone feeling generous toward each other. Announcing that […]

Amazon Prime’s New Kid Series, “Annedroids,” Boots Up July 25.

Amazon Original’s first forays into original programming, shows like Alpha House and Betas, have been met with critical acclaim. Earlier this summer, Amazon Studios released two preschool-targeted-animated series, Tumble Leaf and Creative Galaxy. On Friday, July 25, the streaming service is releasing latest release, the live-action adventure, Annedroids. The series comes from Emmy nominated producer JJ Johnson (Dino Dan) and is aimed at children ages four through seven. The series is about a young female genius, “Anne,” her human friends, android assistants and the amazing scientific discoveries they make while using principles of science, technology, engineering and math. My two […]
