At this point, TV programs related to today’s Russian meteor explosion are coming more quickly than meteor sightings during my last attempted viewing of the Perseid meteor shower. Not only is The Weather Channel re-airing a program about meteors tonight, but Science Channel just announced that it is airing a special called Russian Meteor Explosion tomorrow night — Saturday, Feb. 16, at 8pm ET/PT. In the wake of the disastrous meteor that just exploded over Russia today, The Weather Channel has tweaked its schedule for this evening, Feb. 15, and will be re-airing the “Meteors” episode of its new series Deadliest Space Weather at 9pm ET (repeating at midnight ET). As Winter Storm Nemo brings snow to the Great Lakes on its way to the Northeast United States, meteorologists believe it has the potential to become a seriously crippling blizzard for people throughout the Northeast.
