SOAPnet says goodbye to “One Life to Live” with New Year’s Day marathon

The legendary daytime drama One Life to Live will soon disappear into television history when it ends its 43-year run Jan. 13 on ABC. To send the soap off, ABC’s sister network, SOAPnet, will be airing 14 classic episodes of the show in a daylong marathon Jan. 1, from 10am-midnight ET/PT. SOAPnet to air weekend of classic “All My Children” episodes

As the countdown continues until September 23, when ABC ends the television run of the daytime drama All My Children after 41 years, its sister network, SOAPnet, will celebrate the series with a two-day marathon of classic episodes, September 17 from 7pm-midnight ET/PT, and September 18 from 5pm-midnight ET/PT. Kourtney Kardashian makes acting debut on “One Life to Live”

Reality star Kourtney Kardashian will be making her acting debut on the March 28 episode of ABC’s daytime drama One Life to Live. Kardashian will appear in scenes with Cristian Vega (David Fumero) and Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva). A release from ABC says that Kardashian will make a dramatic entrance with her handsome costar and have a lot of explaining to do, and this photo with her in handcuffs probably relates to that.

James Franco back on “General Hospital”

Red-hot James Franco will be returning to ABC’s General Hospital later this month as performance artist Franco, to wreak havoc once again in Port Charles. Franco will appear on the Feb. 25 and Feb. 28 episodes of GH, which coincide with his Academy Awards co-hosting gig on Feb. 27 (also airing on ABC). “General Hospital” offering week of online chats with cast

To celebrate the upcoming wedding of soap super-couple Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Brenda (Vanessa Marcil Giovinazzo) on ABC’s General Hospital (the wedding story starts on Feb. 18 and continues the following week), ABC.com is presenting a weeklong event called “Watch with the General Hospital cast.” Each day from Feb. 21-25, while the show airs, a different cast member will engage in an online chat with, and answer questions for, fans. The talent will also give behind-the-scenes commentary of that day’s episode.

David Hasselhoff returns to “The Young and the Restless”

In July, ABC Daytime is launching a series of “What If” webisodes on abc.com and soapnet.com that answer the questions, “What would happen if two characters from different soap operas ran into each other? CBS to end “As the World Turns” in September

CBS’s daytime drama As the World Turns will broadcast its final episode on Sept. 17, 2010 — one day shy of a year after the network pulled the plug on its 72-year-old daytime flagship Guiding Light.
