By Lori Acken Bachelorette fans, if you’re like me, you long ago passed the, “Well, DOES he or DOESN’T he?” thing about ol’ Wes The Silver Tongued Maybe-Not-A Bachelor and his waitin’-at-home alleged girlfriend, and moved right on to “Who the hell is she, and why isn’t she pissed?!” Well, we finally know who the hell she is. And why she isn’t pissed. And if you’re picturing some sweet little Austin-grown posey in a flowery dress and cowboy boots who, like Jillian, is completely snowed by her man’s tender tunes … well … not so much. TV Has Its Place: Four Days Into “Jackson Watch”

by Karl J. Paloucek Well, it’s been four days now, and as of this morning his death is still the lead story across most of America. Even if we do get a break to hear about Bernie Madoff’s 150 year-sentence today, my guess is that just as soon, we’ll be back on the bandwagon of hearing more speculation and reiteration about the causes of Michael Jackson’s death and regarding the fallout from his messy estate. It’s a peculiar phenomenon when news media outlets go into this mode — in which a story becomes so self-perpetuating that it continues to be […]

Where To Watch The NBA Draft (Now With 100 Percent Less Stephen A. Smith)

I’ll readily admit that the NBA Draft is not something I typically take a great deal of interest in. This year, I am exceptionally disinterested because 1) This draft class is horrible, and 2) There will be no Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s draft coverage. Over the past few drafts, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Stephen A. Smith Heckling Society of Gentlemen and the work they’ve done at the NBA Draft. Details of ESPN’s NBA Draft coverage (and last year’s awesome tribute to Cheez Doodles): ESPN At 63rd Annual NBA Draft Draft Televised in HD For First Time For the seventh […]
