Now, don’t get me wrong – I love me some True Hollywood Story, those Girls Next Door and even my latest guilty pleasure Sunset Tan (more on that tomorrow). NFL Network Tucks In More “NFL Classics”

NFL Network today released its June schedule of “NFL Classics,” original broadcasts of memorable games shown in their entirety for the first time since they were played. If you don’t get NFL Network, you should probably be calling someone about that problem right now. All games air Thursday at 8pm ET: June 7 — Oakland Raiders vs. New England Patriots (Jan. 2002, CBS). Three inches of snow fell during the final game at New England’s Foxboro Stadium. Kicker Adam Vinatieri sent the game into overtime with a 45-yard FG five plays after the “Tuck Rule” overturned an apparent Patriots’ fumble. […]

The 1982 movie Poltergeist seems to have been ahead of the times in predicting “ghosts in the machine” (i.e., the television viewing machine), since that appears to be the trend these days. I know they’ve been scraping for ESPN Classic content lately, and here’s another example: Indianapolis 500 an Instant Classic; ESPN Classic to Re-Air Thursday ESPN Classic will re-air Sunday’s dramatic Indianapolis 500 as an Instant Classic with a two-hour telecast at 4 p.m. ET Thursday. The 91st running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” won by the popular Dario Franchitti, ranks as one of the best in the storied history of the event.
