Recap: Monica the Medium Season Finale, “Stay or Go”

Tonight’s episode started with a notice that the episode would deal with the topic of suicide and included both a phone number and website for those considering suicide. Please, if you or someone you know has considered suicide, please call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or if you can’t remember that phone number in your moment of need, please call 9-1-1. On a hike (wow, State College is SO beautiful!) Monica confides in her sisters that she’s considering taking time away from college. They remind her that education is important. “If you left, you would never go back,” […]

Face Off Season 9 finale recap

The Face Off Season 9 finale is here! We finally get to see the mini-movies the series has been hyping all season. The Face Off judges tell us what their favorite challenge was from the first 5 episodes of Season 10! We left off in part 1 with the artists learning that they needed to create a third character for their movie. Cause, of course they weren’t going to get multiple days to tweak two makeups. But to make it a little less daunting, and to bring back even more eliminated Face Off contestants, each artist gets 1 more person […]

“Supergirl” soars with uplifting and fun series premiere

Melissa Benoist proves she is the perfect choice to play Supergirl during the first episode of the CBS series. She’s also the second hero to emerge from the Glee stage. Grant Gustin, who played shifty Sebastian Smythe, has been running with the ball as Barry Allen on The Flash. The new addition to the DC Universe has a similar feel of that CW show, only with a slightly different message. There is a sense of female empowerment when it comes with many characters in “Supergirl.” Namely, girls can rule — and save — the world. We are introduced to our heroine Kara Zor-El (Benoist) as she […]

Recap: Dancing With the Stars “Halloween” Season 21, Episode 7

DWTS has yet to post videos or photos from  this week’s episode, so I’ll post as-is and put in photos tomorrow. This week, it’s getting spooky in the ballroom as our celebs tackle dark and delicious dances when DWTS gives us Halloween tricks and treats. The eight remaining couples will each perform a Halloween-themed dance and then the couples will be divided into two teams for the group dance. Who will pick up the most bonus points: team #Nightmare, or team #WhoYouGonnaCall? Season 17 semi-finalist Leah Rimini is still filling in for Erin Andrews while she covers the World Series, and […]

Recap: Fargo Season 2, Episode 3 – Tie-ing Up Loose Ends

Last week on Fargo, we got a better peek at the Kansas City mafia, Hank ruffled the Kitchen Brothers, Peggy showed her “bad girl” side and Ed made mincemeat out of Rye — literally. This week, the body count is stacking up and things are getting sort of tense. Well, Dodd (Jeffrey Donovan, Burn Notice) is getting tense. I don’t think he has the capability to not be tense. But I digress. Ready to jump right into Season 2’s third episode? Okay then! The episode starts with a shot of Hanzee (Zahn McClarnon, Longmire) in the middle of the snowy […]

Recap: Blindspot Season 1, Episode 6 – Sweet Dreams

On last week’s episode of Blindspot, it looked like we were going to have a gunfight between the CIA and the FBI. It was also looking like Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander, Kyle XY) was not really Taylor Shaw after all. Even more importantly, Zapata (Audrey Esparza, Public Morals) was becoming a snitch to pay off her gambling debts. Confused or intrigued? Let’s dive into this week’s episode to try to make sense of it all. The beginning of “Cede Your Soul” looked like something out of a soft-core, made-for-Cinemax movie. The scene shows Jane Doe getting it on with someone who appears to be […]

Jane the Virgin Chapter 25 recap: Prerequisites and Co-parenting

Traditions in the Villanueva family are very important. That’s why, in this week’s episode of Jane the Virgin, everything needs to be in place for Mateo’s baptism. One small problem is that Rafael hasn’t spoken with Michael about being Mateo’s godfather since Jane revealed that she loved both of them. Rafael still seems okay with the plan, but we’ll have to see what Michael says. I don’t think Rafael heard much of what Jane said over the phone since he was in shock at the doctor revealing that Petra is indeed pregnant. Yikes! Since there’s no good news developing from […]

Rebecca is less than thrilled to see White Josh (she wants to be […]

Ricky Gervais will host the Golden Globes again

After stunning celebrities, viewers and censors alike with his previous three gigs hosting the Golden Globe Awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012, it looked like Ricky Gervais would not be back. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler took the reins the next three years. But Ricky is back. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC announced today that the funnyman will host the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, airing live Jan. 10, 2016, on NBC. The press release says that Gervais “brought his acerbic sense of humor to Hollywood.” That’s an understatement. While his 2012 hosting job was considered a bit […]
