Tom Ellis plays a steamy “medical fixer” in USA’s new series “Rush”

When baseball pros with anger issues, actors with — ahem — personal problems, or bullet-riddled gangsters need a discreet doctor, who do they call? If you’ve got cash, then Dr. Will Rush (Tom Ellis) has no prejudice. Rush, USA Network’s new high-octane drama, premieres  boasts an antihero lead with as much to hide as his famous, and infamous, clientele. Rush has all of the trappings of a slick medical drama; its protagonist’s swanky hotel room features a portable defibrillator machine, his car’s trunk has a portable surgery suite, and he is in possession of and uses every drug known to […]

“Sharknado 2” highlights Syfy’s “Sharknado Week”

Syfy’s original Sharknado was a social-media hit when it debuted last summer (though not necessarily a ratings smash, interestingly enough; more people seemed to snark about the film on Twitter than perhaps watched it). Naturally, then, there is now a sequel, which — after soliciting entries for a subtitle from fans via Twitter — Syfy and production company The Asylum have called, somewhat pedestrianly, Sharknado 2: The Second One. (A Sharknado 3 is also already in the works, set to debut in summer 2015, so Syfy is really going to ride this franchise until it jumps the shark, which may […]

Adam Richman series Man Finds Food postponed by Travel Channel

In the wake of perennial Travel Channel favorite Adam Richman’s controversial online exchanges with a few detractors, the network has pulled his newest series Man Finds Food — which was to premiere tonight — from its schedule. Though the announcement did not specifically state the reason for its decision, Richman’s recent, shockingly vitriolic adventures in social media with several people who challenged his use of the term “thinspiration” in interviews and  Instagram posts about his recent 70-plus pound weight loss are presumed to be to blame. Richman has since apologized for his comments and made his personal Instragram account private. The network has not said […]
