Oliver’s Twist: “The Daily Show” standout John Oliver gets his own gig on HBO

Turns out The Daily Show’s fans weren’t the only ones thinking, “That guy should really have his own show” when the Comedy Central hit’s droll correspondent John Oliver aced his guest-hosting stint last summer, sitting in for Jon Stewart while Stewart directed his first film. Not long after, HBO offered the witty Brit his own weekly news-satire series. Airing late-night on Sundays, Last Week Tonight With John will feature the Emmy-winning writer and sometime standup comic (who also appears as Professor Ian Duncan on NBC’s Community) skewering the previous week’s news highlights and political water cooler moments in trademark Oliver […]

Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller on Dancing with the Stars May 5

It’s a favored topic of discussion among Dance Moms fans — does the series’ blustering star, Pittsburgh dance studio owner Abby Lee Miller, really, truly know her stuff where the finer points of the art are concerned? Or does she leave the tough stuff to guest choreographers while she seeks out the spotlight? We’ll see how Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman feel about it when Miller joins them on the Dancing With the Stars judging panel, Monday, May 5 at 8pm ET. Interview with Brett Dalton of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, Part 1

We talked to Brett Dalton who plays Grant Ward on ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (Tuesdays at 8pm ET) about how he feels about the show’s fans, social media and the Marvel universe. A lot of critics and fans share the opinion that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started off slowly when it debuted, only reaching its stride following your recent crossover with Captain America: The Winter Soldier — a film that essentially transformed S.H.I.E.L.D. from an above-board government organization into on-the-run renegade underdogs. Do you think that there was a conscious redirection at any point for this show or was the recent […]

Tori Spelling And Jennie Garth Reunite For “Mystery Girls”

Long before Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Kim Kardashian became symbols of the “good life” for our society’s youth, the kids from Beverly Hills, 90210 were shaping our idea of what a high-end lifestyle could mean to teenagers. But regardless of their tax brackets, the real heart of that show was the close bond between the characters — in particular, Tori Spelling’s Donna Martin and Jennie Garth’s Kelly Taylor. Now, more than 20 years after they first met, Garth and Spelling are reuniting onscreen in Mystery Girls, a new ABC Family comedy, airing Wednesdays, that Spelling herself helped develop. Still […]

5 Questions With Jere Burns of FX’s “Justified”

For five seasons, Jere Burns’ character on Justified has come and gone, weaved in and out of plotlines — always on the wrong side of the law, but with fluid allegiances all the same. But now Wynn Duffy is a regular on the FX hit, trying to make a go at running the drug trade in Harlan County, Ky., with his current associate and sometimes nemesis Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). Burns’ run on Justified mirrors his career in some ways, as an actor who pops up now and again and every so often scores a big hit. Since he made […]
