The Hub Network and Awkward Family Photos team up for “Awkward Family Movie Week”

My family has taken some very strange Christmas card photos. Most embarrassing are several years where my siblings and I posed in swimsuits. Swimsuits!!! One year, we were in swimsuits on a golf cart. Why?!? And then there was the year when several of us straddled a Civil War cannon… I am not alone in my family photo embarrassment. And, if you think your family photos are mortifying, the Hub Network and Awkward Family Photos can prove that compared to the ones they’ve seen, your family (and mine) is completely normal. During its weeklong “Awkward Family Movie Week,” the Hub […]

Talking with the cast of USA’s hilarious new “Sirens”

USA Network has dominated the cable ratings landscape over the past several years — recently finishing as the No. 1 cable network in total viewers for an eighth consecutive year. This was primarily accomplished through the strength of its very popular drama series, including White Collar, Covert Affairs, Suits and the recently ended Burn Notice. But USA Network’s new foray into half-hour, original scripted comedy series looks like it will continue to wow viewers. The first of USA’s comedy projects out of the block is Sirens, a hilarious new series created and executive-produced by Denis Leary and Bob Fisher. Like […]

Nigel Barker gets personal on Season 2 of Oxygen’s The Face

Having spent 17 cycles as a judge and photographer on America’s Next Top Model, Nigel Barker understands what makes a modeling show compelling. But even he had no idea when he left ANTM to host Naomi Campbell’s The Face how quickly that series would become a worldwide sensation, too, with Campbell helming British and Australian versions, and an international field of hopefuls auditioning for Season 2. This time, Barker will also serve as confidant to the 12 “modeltestants” vying to become the face of Frédéric Fekkai’s 2014 ad campaign — a role he says allows him to ask the same questions viewers would and […]

Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga return in Bates Motel Season 2

Season 1 of Bates Motel ended with a shocker, the murder of young Norman Bates’ (Freddie Highmore) caring teacher, Miss Watson. The implication was that Norman had offed her during one of his creepy blackouts, and while that very well may prove true, audiences have seen with this twisty Psycho prequel — returning for Season 2 on A&E March 3 — that what sometimes seems certain may not be the case at all. “What I like about the show is that it’s suggestive as opposed to conclusive,” Highmore says. “I think that intrigue keeps it interesting. People aren’t too sure […]

David Arquette chills as Happy Face Killer Keith Jesperson in Lifetime film

In March of 1995, Canadian truck driver Keith Jesperson’s five-year, eight-victim murder spree ended, but his notoriety had just begun. Livid when a woman falsely confessed to the first killing as a way out of an abusive relationship, Jesperson had sent letters detailing his crimes to prosecutors and media outlets, signing them with only a smiley face — leading one reporter to dub him the “Happy Face Killer.” This month, Lifetime dramatizes Jesperson’s story in the harrowing original movie Happy Face Killer, starring David Arquette in the title role. “It’s a social study and an examination of what leads to […]
