Krampus legend featured in two holiday TV episodes

Most people are familiar with the legend of Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus, who rewards good children with presents during the Yuletide season. But in the folklore of some European countries, jolly old St. Nick has a dark counterpart in the figure of Krampus, a beastly creature who does more than just dole out coal to naughty children. According to legend, the demon-like Krampus punishes and frightens bad children, and carries particularly naughty kids away to his lair in a sack. Krampus seems like an intriguing enough figure to be featured in pop culture, and he has been portrayed in […]

Fast & Furious 6, the newest installment in Fast and Furious franchise, has in common with the other films a central theme of family — a theme that the creators feel is the backbone to the success of the films. Series godfather and producer Neal Moritz has watched as his core team has grown over the years. “The Fast family has been together on and off for almost 14 years, so there is history here,” he offers. “We’ve been making these movies […]

Scandal recap: “YOLO”

Scandal recap: “YOLO” I entered my viewing experience at 6 this morning (I was busy during the episode) believing that an episode titled “YOLO” wouldn’t exactly be a moniker for television excellence and that I would promptly fall back asleep during the episode. Then again, this is Scandal we’re talking about. In true Scandal fashion, it had me off the futon, definitely awake, and excited to start my day like the sun mascot from the Jimmy Deans commercials. My excitement began with the opening scene, featuring a kill-thirsty Huck (Guillermo Diaz) standing over a similarly situated prey like during his […]
