NFL Network counts down “The Top 100 Players of 2013”

NFL Network brings back its countdown series on Saturday, April 27, at 8pm ET with Nos. 100-91 revealed in the first episode of The Top 100 Players of 2013. After the premiere on Saturday, the series continues on Thursdays until the top 10 players are revealed in a two-part finale on June 27. PBS re-airing updated Frontline “Top Secret America” episode to include coverage of Boston bombings

On April 30, PBS will be re-airing an episode of its news program Frontline called “Top Secret America — 9/11 to the Boston Bombings.” This episode originally aired in September 2011 (without the Boston reference) and is a look at the question of whether the hundreds of billions of dollars spent since 9/11 on counterterrorism efforts in America have made us safer. Country music legend George Jones dead at 81

Country music legend George Jones died Friday at age 81, according to a news release. The Country Music Hall of Famer, Grand Ole Opry member and Kennedy Center Honoree was hospitalized last week in Nashville with fever and irregular blood pressure. Jones had been in the midst of a yearlong farewell tour to conclude his 50-year career. Duck Dynasty finale ratings net a record 9.6 million viewers

The Robertsons ended the season the way they started it, shattering ratings records for A&E. Last night’s Duck Dynasty finale ratings set a record, having been watched by 9.6 million total viewers, a record for the network, and also scored records in all of the key demographics. For the season, Duck Dynasty averaged 8.4 million total viewers, an astonishing 95 percent increase from Season 2. Overall it’s cable’s No. 1 nonfiction series this year, and No. 2 original series trailing only AMC’s The Walking Dead. WrestleMania 29 is the highest-grossing event in WWE history

WWE sent a release today announcing that WrestleMania 29, which was held April 7 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, grossed in excess of $72 million, making it the highest-grossing event in WWE history. WrestleMania 29 also will once again exceed 1 million global pay-per-view buys, and the event attracted a sold-out crowd of 80,676 fans from all 50 states and 34 countries.
