Amazon greenlights full seasons of “The Man in the High Castle,” other original series

After becoming Amazon’s most-watched pilot ever back in January, the original series The Man in the High Castle has been extended to a full season, Amazon announced today. The drama is based on Philip K. Dick’s Hugo Award-winning 1962 alternate-history novel set in a world where the Axis powers of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan won World War II and have split much of the world, including the United States, between them. Amazon Studios launches its latest better-than-TV series, the highly anticipated comedy-drama Transparent, on Friday. Amazon Original’s first forays into original programming, shows like Alpha House and Betas, have been met with critical acclaim. Earlier this summer, Amazon Studios released two preschool-targeted-animated series, Tumble Leaf and Creative Galaxy. On Friday, July 25, the streaming service is releasing latest release, the live-action adventure, Annedroids. The series comes from Emmy nominated producer JJ Johnson (Dino Dan) and is aimed at children ages four through seven.
