“On Freddie Roach” chronicles the life of the famed boxing trainer

HBO and filmmaker Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) team up for On Freddie Roach, an innovative new prime-time series following Freddie Roach, the world-famous boxing trainer who has worked with the likes of Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao. Roach operates the famed Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, where he has produced a host of world champions. On Freddie Roach also explores Roach’s struggle against Parkinson’s disease. ESPN’s “The Real Rocky” looks at boxer Chuck Wepner

By Ryan Berenz Follow @ChannelGuideRAB ESPN’s fall documentary series continues on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 8pm ET, with “The Real Rocky,” looking at “The Bayonne Bleeder” Chuck Wepner, a former New Jersey state heavyweight boxing champion, who fought the likes of George Foreman, Sonny Liston and Muhammad Ali. But Wepner’s claim to fame, so he says, is that he was the inspiration for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky character. But Wepner’s career took a bizarre turn as he went on to fight wrestling legend Andre the Giant and even boxed a bear.

Including behind-the-scenes access and in-depth interviews, viewers will follow Mayweather and Ortiz over four episodes as they train for and promote their Pay-Per-View fight.
