“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” announces first week of guests

In about two weeks, Stephen Colbert will debut as the new host of CBS’ Late Night when The Late Show With Stephen Colbert premieres Sept. 8 at 11:35pm ET/PT. Today, the show announced who Colbert’s guests will be that initial week, and it will run the gamut from Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush, to actress Scarlett Johansson, and from comedian Amy Schumer to author Stephen King and a musical performance by Kendrick Lamar (along with an interview). TCA: Go Beyond What You Thought Was Possible in CBS’s “Limitless”

CBS’s Limitless, is a fast-paced drama about Brian Finch, who discovers the brain-boosting power of the mysterious drug NZT and is coerced by the FBI into using his extraordinary cognitive abilities to solve complex cases for them. Today at the Television Critics Association (TCA) summer press tour, the show’s cast and producers explained the new series. At CBS’ panel for the new series Supergirl at this morning’s Television Critics Association (TCA) panel, executive producer Greg Berlanti (The Flash, Arrow) said that he grew up worshipping the Superman films directed by Richard Donner. This morning at the Television Critics Association (TCA) summer press tour, Nina Tassler, Chairman of CBS Entertainment outlined the network’s hopes for fall 2015. CBS’ family of networks also includes Showtime and The CW, but most of Tassler’s presentation highlighted the 5 freshman series on CBS.
