Recap: Dancing With The Stars: The Semi-Finals

When I posted about Monday’s episode earlier in the day, I knew that Dancing with the Stars: The Semi-Finals was going to be emotional. It. Was. Sooooooooooo Emotional. I may have shed more than a few tears, a fact that I freely admit. Other than Disney Week, the Semi-Finals are my favorite week on DWTS.  The stress is high, the talent levels are high, the drama is high, the scores are high. Everything about the night is exponentially greater than it’s been all season. Despite all of the stress that will be going on this week, it was sweet to see a […]

Recap: Dancing With The Stars: The Results Week 8

Tonight, on Dancing With The Stars: The Results — with only a week to go before the semifinals — two couples will be eliminated. This week’s elimination was based on last week’s Era scores, and last night’s scores from America’s Choice and the Trio dances. Len chose to see an encore of Rumer’s Paso Doble trio that she dances with Val and Artem. It’s definitely a HOT number and once again, Ru showed a ferocity and power that is perfection. We also got another look at their steamy samba. Is this competition hers to lose? After two magnificent weeks in a […]

Recap: Dancing With The Stars “America’s Choice” Season 20, Episode 8

Tonight on Dancing With the Stars, it’s America’s Choice as each couple’s song and dance style has been selected for them by the show’s viewers. At the end of tomorrow night’s results show, two couples will be eliminated. America has creative control of the couples’ first dance, asking fans throughout the week via Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for their input on wardrobe, set design and visual effects. Each couple will perform two routines including an individual original dance and a trio dance. For the trio dance, couples had the opportunity to pick an eliminated pro or troupe member to enhance […]

Interview With Patti LaBelle of Dancing With The Stars

Patti LaBelle may have been voted off of Dancing With the Stars, but she’s still a major part of the show. Last week she absolutely slayed in her performance of “Lady Marmalade” during the 10th Anniversary show and hopefully we’ll see her lovely face in the audience this season and in the future. After her departure from the dance competition, Miss Patti is busy, working on a top-secret project that I can’t tell you about … yet. But while we were chatting about her upcoming project, I asked her a few questions about her time on Dancing With the Stars. […]

Recap: Dancing With The Stars: 10th Anniversary Special

I will be the first to admit, 10 years ago, when I first heard of the show, Dancing With The Stars; I thought the concept sounded terrible. I didn’t think that watching non-dancers perform ballroom dancing routines was a terrible idea. But was I ever wrong! Within the first episode or two, I was hooked. Kelly Monaco and her petite and powerful frame and John O’Hurley with his suave silver-foxiness were among a perfect cast that showed that dance was for everyone. Now, the cast is larger, the dances have higher production value, and every season, we fall in love […]

Recap: Dancing With The Stars “Era Night” Season 20, Episode 7

Tonight on Dancing With the Stars: “Era Night”, it’s double trouble for two of our couples as two teams face elimination. At least that what Tom announced last week, even though the official release from ABC says only one couple will be eliminated. We’ll just have to see what Tommy B says. And at the top of the show, Tom announces that the double elimination has been moved to next week, so phew! Regardless, each team has been assigned an iconic dance style from a specific period, so let’s see who masters their history. Plus, will Derek’s “Freak Accident” take […]

Who’s Got A Hangover? Spring Break Week on Dancing With the Stars, Season 20, Episode 6

For some college students, Spring Break is a time of R&R after the stress of college midterms; but for others, it’s an annual right of passage where bikini and tank top-clad coeds make a host of ill-advised decisions that (hopefully) won’t follow them for the rest of their lives. Thankfully, this week’s theme on DWTS is a nod to the music and vibe of the beach, and not the drunken orgies that we see on MTV and the news. And in Dancing With The Stars, Season 20, Episode 6, in addition dancing to a spring break-inspired song, the remaining contestants will […]

“Faith, Trust, and a Little Bit of Pixie Dust” on Dancing With The Stars “Disney Night”

Oh, it’s the most magical night of the season, the night where Genies dance with Gents, Beauties waltz with Beasts and the air has the faint glimmer of Pixie Dust. Yes, it’s time for Dancing With The Stars “Disney Night” — an evening filled with corporate synergy galore. Another charmingly pastel opening number opened the show with yards and yards of tulle and tons of animated guests. Even Mickey and pals made an appearance, before scampering backstage to nibble on craft services while the competition gets under way. Robert and Kim were quickly announced to be safe, but Suzanne and […]
