ESPN announced its launch of ESPN Front Row, a corporate blog run by its communications department that will give fans a chance to see inside operations at ESPN as well as discuss certain internal issues when they become newsworthy (or, you know, controversial). The blog is intended to give ESPN a little more transparency, and we’ll have to see how they do when the first PR firestorm gets ignited. Major League Soccer enters its 16th season with some exciting changes. Houston Dynamo moves to the Eastern Conference to make room for two newly added expansion teams, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, which join the Western Conference. The Kansas City Wizards have changed their name to Sporting Kansas City. Their new soccer stadium, Livestrong Sporting Park, opens Thursday, June 9. TV schedules and start times have been announced for the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series. FOX again opens coverage of the Sprint Cup Series, with the first 13 points races of the season, including the Daytona 500 on Feb. 20. TNT has coverage of six races beginning in June. ESPN and ABC share 17 races, with 14 of those on ESPN. All but one of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup races airs on ESPN. All three races on ABC are on Saturday nights.
