College football on ESPN kicks off Sept. 1

The college football season kicks off Thursday, Sept. 1,  featuring a prime-time matchup between the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels and the Wisconsin Badgers at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wis., at 8pm ET on ESPN. The Badgers, ranked No. 10 in the USA Today preseason poll, are coming off a Rose Bowl loss to TCU, have high hopes that transfer quarterback Russell Wilson can be a playmaker in their run-first offense. ESPN’s Selection Sunday includes “The Fab Five” documentary

By Ryan Berenz While CBS has the rights to air the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Selection Show that reveals the 68-team field for the 2011 NCAA Tournament, the ESPN networks won’t be outdone on Selection Sunday. Coverage begins on Sunday, March 13, at 11am ET on ESPN2 as they countdown the hours to selection time on College GameDay.
