Where to watch the 2010 Masters Tournament

The Masters Tournament tees off this week, and ESPN and CBS will air the tournament April 8-11. As you may have heard, this will be Tiger Woods’ first competitive round of the year, and while ESPN won’t be airing The Masters when Woods tees off at hole No. 1, they will be allowed to break in to air Woods’ first tee shot live during SportsCenter. ESPN will have coverage of Tiger Woods’ first public statement since the events of last Thanksgiving and the media firestorm surrounding his alleged marital infidelity. Woods is expected to release a statement on Friday, Feb. 19 at 11am ET — possibly announcing his return to competitive golf — but not field any questions from reporters. The 2009 PGA Championship tees off on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minn. The year’s final major could also be played at the longest course in PGA Championship history (7,674 yards depending on tee placement). Padraig Harrington (pictured), who won last year’s PGA by two strokes over Sergio Garcia, will return to defend his title. The British Open is my favorite of golf’s four majors. There’s just something awesome about the game being played on the isle of its birth, on those old majestic Royal & Ancient courses. The 2009 Open Championship will be played at the Ailsa Course at Turnberry Golf Club, Scotland, July 16-19. This is the fourth time Turnberry has hosted the Open (previously held there in 1977, 1986 and 1994). The U.S. Open Championship golf tournament from the Black Course at Bethpage State in Farmingdale, N.Y., tees off Thursday, June 18, at 10am ET on ESPN. Tiger Woods, who won last year’s U.S. Open in an 18-hole playoff thriller against Rocco Mediate, returns to the site of his 2002 U.S. Open win. This episode, “Lights, Camera … Hesitation?” begins at the Barkley, Bean, Bryant & Friends Celebrity Skins Game at the YMCA Par 3 in Lakeland, Fla., which was held Feb. 6, 2009. Everyone’s excited to see how Tiger Woods will fare at The Masters April 9-12, his first major tournament since winning the 2008 U.S. Open and rehabbing his knee.
